APAPA FOUNDER C.C. YIN TO RECEIVE THE ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN
INSTITUTE FOR CONGRESSIONAL STUDIES 2012 CORPORATE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) was established 18 years ago by the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) leadership which included members such as U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye, Congress members Norman Mineta and the late Bob Matsui. The organization's goal is to build API leadership and establish the political pipeline through leadership programs that empower groups and individuals at all levels of professional development. The current chair of APAICS is the first Chinese American woman to serve in Congress, Rep. Judy Chu.
"C.C. Yin has served as an outstanding role model as one of the most successful Asian American franchisee owners of McDonald's. C.C.'s passion and generosity in giving back to the community and helping new immigrant families realize their American dream is second to none" according to Chair Emeritus of CAPAC and APAICS boardmember, Rep. Mike Honda.
Other national leaders who will be recognized for their community leadership at this event will be Floyd Mori, former national executive director of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) and Karen Narasaki, former president and executive director of the Asian American Justice Center (AAJC).
The APAICS Gala Awards Dinner is the premier, national event for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community drawing a national audience of over 1,000 API leaders from around the country including a number of appearances by the President of the United States.
The event takes place May 8th at the Ritz Carlton in Washington, D.C. during Asian Pacific Heritage Month. For information contact Terrina Gogue at firstname.lastname@example.org.
