Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) held its 6th Annual National Leadership Retreat on October 24th to 27th with 75 leaders from 30 chapters coming together to learn how to inspire, engage and empower their local communities as we approach 2020. The National Leadership Retreat is an annual event hosted by APAPA to gather our chapter leaders, who are influential individuals in their respected communities and have them share their accomplishments and ideas. It is a weekend full of thought-provoking sessions and fun activities. This year, leaders learned how to strengthen their chapters, build relationships with public officials and journalists and how to engage their communities to become more civically engaged during the 2020 Census and general election.
