On Saturday, November 16, 2019, more than 200 diverse community members, community leaders, and sponsors attended the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs – Fresno Chapter’s inauguration at the Elite Event Venue from 5 P.M.- 9 P.M. The beautiful event facility decorated by May Lee Vang and Jennifer Vang was matched by amazing drumming beats that illuminated the kick-off from the Polynesian Dance Club of Fresno. The rhythm and beat of the night was continuous throughout the event with a powerful National Anthem from Rachel Axt, smooth violin serenading the guests during dinner by Allee Her, performances from the Polynesian Club with dance from the Island and Haiti and the Southeast Asian dance and instrumental performances from the Lao Cultural Community Center of Fresno that mesmerized all those in attendance. In between the entertaining performances were the special guest speakers Councilmember Miguel Arias, City of Fresno; Councilmember Vong Mouanoutoua, City of Clovis; Mayor Steve Ly, City of Elk Grove; C.C. Yin, APAPA Founder; Chong Yang, APAPA Fresno Chair; Keynote speaker, Councilmember Sheng Thao, City of Oakland; and Keynote speaker, Granville, President/CEO Darius Assemi who inspired our community to be united and engaged in civic duties and public affairs. APAPA- Folsom Chapter was proud to have the event hosted by one of the prominent voices of the Valley and News anchor for ABC 30, Dale Yurong.
