APAPA Tri-Valley and the City of Dublin, Lunar New Year Celebration

On Sunday, February 4, 2018, APAPA Tri-Valley Chapter hosted their very first Lunar New Year Celebration at Dublin High School’s Center for Performing Arts. In attendance – Dublin Park and Service Staff, Ms. Tegan McLane, Dublin Mayor David Haubert, Chinese Consul, Ms. Shentu, along with Vice Consul, Ms. Hao and APAPA Leaders, Andy Li and Marsha Golangco.

The event began with opening remarks by Margaret Liang, the President of APAPA Tri-Valley, followed by a nice speech by the Mayor, in English, Chinese and Mandarin – how cool! In addition, Andy Li, APAPA Bay Area Region President also shared New Year blessings to the audience.

Overall, the performances were awesome! The Kung Fu performance was exceptionally stunning, the dances were beautiful, the string ensemble was fantastic and the folk rap by the seniors was hilarious! They also had an amazing magic show by the Amazing Alvin, which left the audience in awe and even the Mayor performed!

Thank you, Dublin Mayor David Haubert, and the city of Dublin for supporting the community. Special thanks to the wonderful team of youth volunteers and helpful moms, Winnie, Tiffany, Helena, Rong, Shao, Jen and Julie!

What a great way to celebrate the beginning of the New Year – APAPA TVC wishes everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous Year of the Dog!
